Although not located in Cornell, I felt it was important to share the following notice that I received from the Markham District Baseball Association.  Lincoln Park is located near Carlton Rd and Manhattan Drive.

"URGENT NOTICE TO ALL USERS OF LINCOLN PARK
July 28, 2015

Dear Parents,

It has been brought to our attention that there has been some suspicious behaviour at Lincoln Park over the past several weeks.

There has been a man hanging around Lincoln Park often walking his dog.  He sometimes talks to the children, tries to give them toys and allows them to play with his dog.  All of these activites can be interpreted as attempts to build trust with the children.

On Monday, July 27th this man was found hiding in the bushes and was believed to be taking photos of the children.  When confronted, he slipped the camera in his pocket and fled the area.  This behaviour was reported to the police by the camp that use Lincoln Park.

There will be extra surveillance in the area by police however it is important for all that use this park to be aware and report any suspicious activities.

The description of the individual is as follows:

Male
Caucasian
60's
Grey/white hair (bowl type cut)
Khaki shorts
black socks pulled up to the knees
Sunglasses/baseball cap (sometimes with/sometimes without
Walking a dog (Labradoodle, answers to Ali)
Effeminate demeanour (walks and talks softly)
Claims to be a retired teacher who still substitues
Gave the camp staff/children frisbees

This person was caught hiding in the bushes in at the north east corner of Lincoln Park near Brooklyn Crescent (close to the swings)

PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR YOUNG CHILDREN TO GO TO THE PLAYGROUND ON THEIR OWN AT THIS TIME.

If you see anything while at the park please report it to York Regional Police."
